We did a show at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023 all about that one episode of Come Dine With Me where a contestant is salty about losing and angrily denounces his fellow diners.

Actually, there are multiple episodes of Come Dine With Me where that happens. But it was about this one in particular:

But is Peter the villain he’s sometimes portrayed as? We thought not. In fact, if you view the full episode, there’s a strong case to be made that he is entirely justified.

We made this case, with sock puppets, to a sold out audience of about thirty-ish people in the sideroom of a cocktail bar in August 2023. It was actually a sold out show, although a surprising number of people who had paid for tickets didn’t show up.

Factoring in the cost of socks and being listed in the Fringe app, we made a loss of about a tenner on the whole production. Which, we gather, is a lot better than most Fringe shows.

Excess socks left over after the show were later burned in a beach bonfire. They were surprisingly flammable.
